On this page we give you a little more detail about each of our product types, how we make them and what choices are available so you can have any product unique to you.
In our designs we use a mixture of home grown and imported soft, hard, and exotic timber. The combinations are selected to allow the natural beauty of the wood to show through without the use of stains or dyes.
We are always looking to expand our product range and are very happy to work with clients to create bespoke designs that cannot be found on the high street.
To help clients personalise their products we have invested in an in-house laser etching facility, so our products can be engraved with names, messages, and logos.
You can also make your own choice of timber and pattern for your product. To assist in your choice, please see our library of timbers (coming soon).
As a small family run business, we think it is important to buy locally when we can. Our search for local suppliers has provided some surprises and we have found great local suppliers that we had no previous knowledge of. All our timber is purchased from suppliers that comply with UK Timber Regulations, which in March 2013 made it illegal to sell timber that has been illegally harvested.
This legislation was originally European Union Timber Regulations, but following the UK’s exit from the EU the legislation became UKTR.
One of our main timber suppliers owns and sustainably manages 135 acres of woodland in the UK and to date they have planted more than 25,000 trees.
Our product range includes:
We hope you will enjoy your new purchase for many years to come. Here are some tips on how to care and look after your new product and to preserve the natural beauty of the wood.
All chopping boards are finished with two coats of food grade mineral oil and two coats of conditioner made from several bee waxes and mineral oil. Our coasters and placemats are finished with two coats of clear lacquer.
Clean after use by washing your product in warm water and washing-up liquid. Always wash both sides of your product. This will help keep the product flat.
Always dry with a tea towel or paper towel to reduce the amount of moisture on the surface.
Apply wood and cutting board conditioning balm once a month depending on use. Please treat both sides of the product, as this will help to keep your product flat. Wood is a natural material and will absorb water, which makes the wood expand. If one side expands more than the other the product will develop a bow.
Use cooking/edible oils to treat your product. Oils like olive, sunflower, rapeseed and vegetable oil will degrade and spoil the taste of any food that comes into contact with the board.
Place these products in the oven, microwaves, dishwashers or the freezer.
Soak your product in water. This will ruin it.
Use bleach or abrasive cleaning products as these will damage the surface.
Leave the product in direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
