End Grain

This type of chopping board often shows a greater depth of colour and has a warmer look and a very luxurious feel.

With this configuration you are looking at timber cut across the trunk or branch so you can sometimes see the growth rings of the tree.

This type of board can be made in a huge variety of patterns that we will be adding to all of the time.  We will also be adding a range of Chaos Boards with completely random patterns.  Watch the Featured Products section of the Home Page for the latest developments.

These are made by selecting the wood required for a particular pattern.  We saw, plane and sand the wood and fasten the timber together to form a slab.  The slab is planed flat and cut into short lengths.  This length will determine the thickness of the finished board.  The short sections are then fastened together to form the complete board.  It is then flattened, and hand sanded.  They are produced in 2 sizes as standard:

Medium 300 mm x 400 mm

Large 350 mm x 450 mm

If you would like a particular pattern or size, please let us have details in the Bespoke Products section.

Butcher’s Block

A traditional style of chopping board made from either beech or iroko and standard in two sizes:

Medium 355 mm x 270 mm

Large 355 mm x 400 mm

They have standard end grain configuration and should not be confused with the less expensive to produce edge grain versions.

As a bespoke order we can use any or a combination of our standard hardwoods and can make boards to your particular size requirements.

You may also wish to have your butchers block mounted on an island or trolley.

Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
